"Come, little leaves," said the wind one day.
In response to josie about what happened after thanksgiving dinner....
Thanksgiving dinners at my house was all about family. Everyone always showed up at our house. the cheek pinching aunts, the uncles that usually had something other than "soda" in their glasses and of course there was gramps who always fell asleep in front of the TV like al bundy with his hand stuck in the waist of his pants.
all of us kids would go outside in the backyard and play football or hide-n-seek. dad would put together a bon-fire and we would all gather around for stories and roasting marshmallows. it was fun to sit and listen to the elders talk about the days when they were kids and the silly antics that they used to do. as we got older, the games were less and the guys ended up more in front of the latest football game and the girls gathered in the kitchen or upstairs to gossip and talk about the latest fashion or boyfriend. when my mom passed away, my stepfather and youngest brother moved out of the house. a year later he left it to me to sell. I miss the days of family gatherings. all the kids are grown now, some with their own families and the start of new traditions. this year, ive invited everyone to my house for dinner, and marcus is going to put the bon-fire together for the kids. maybe we can get back some of that magick that we all felt so many years ago.
